Poetry Jam @ Joy Kogawa House
Every 3rd Thursday of the month. Write, edit, share, and witness poetry at the beautiful Historic Joy Kogawa House. For all poets and folks interested in poetry and spoken word. No experience necessary.

Word Vancouver Festival: Poetry Jam
Historic Joy Kogawa House, in partnership with Vancouver Poetry House, will offer a special poetry jam at Word Vancouver. This is a non-competitive group writing, sharing, feedback session where novice to established writers who are interested in spoken word poetry are invited to come share some space. Participants will have the opportunity to write together using various prompts, then share work that is discussed in an encouraging learning environment facilitated by Lindi Nolte. Being inspired by so many stories and books at Word Vancouver, this is a great way to take some quiet time to nurture the creative.
Word Vancouver Festival 2025:

Fall Equinox Poetry and Yoga One day retreat
A gentle seasonal day long retreat to move your body, stir your creativity, and come home to yourself.
Join us for a 4-hour gathering in the beautiful loft space at Swallowfield Farm, designed to ground you, move you, and create space for reflection—on the page and within your body. Guided by Lindi Nolte, an award-winning poet and certified educator, and Steph Galitzine, a certified yoga teacher and registered physiotherapist, this experience is both restorative and creatively expansive.
Through poetry, yoga, and creative journaling, we’ll explore the quiet wisdom of seasonal change and the stories we carry.
